Bayliner Boat Covers
2001 Bayliner Capri trim will not fall, but the trailer button (above) seems to work?
I kept the Boat during the winter, with a boat cover. When I removed the cover boat noticed moisture in the engine compartment. Now my button trim down will not work when the button is pressed I hear the sound just click on the trim pump and then it goes away without moving. The trailer button (up) seem to work. Please help I checked the pump gasket jumping the green wire and it works. So I have a bad switch or the wires in the pump area is bad?
up to down as much as the engine is concerned is just a simple question of which wire is positive and the negative. work in a proper system, when nothing is being pushed, both wires are ground. then when you Enage it, whatever side you choose, you energize a relay and provides a positive energy through the wires. engine works. if you're listening a clicking sound, the relay is involved, but isn't able to make it through it and into the engine. simple test would be to switch the two relays. there must be two of them mounted on the trim pump assembly. one is up, one is low. change them and if the relay is bad it goes down but not up. buy a new relay, probably has numbers on it and can stay until macthed in an auto parts store for less than a marine shop. either way, its not expensive part. If the relay is good will remain working as it is now. your 4-pin relay. pin is a signal ground, should be a good ground. since it clicks you know it. Following is a positive sign. must provide positive energy when you push the control button apporiate, and only when you press that button. since the clicks that you know works. then has positive force for the motor, should always be providing energy. and then you have for the engine itself.
