Flat bottom or v hull of the Boat?
I am considering getting a boat used for fishing in lakes and rivers. Now I'm looking for a private 12 'hull v at a great price. – The fish in the river that ranges from 30 to 20 feet deep that there is some coverage, such as fallen trees. Would be a good av hull terrible? What are the serious disadvantages of av hull against a flat bottom?
For a 12 'boat you will notice a little extra power needed to a certain speed with a V hull – over a wet surface and less lift. Much less chance of getting blown back with a V Flattie at high speed in a strong wind (just too slow ….) You could be much more comfortable in a short chop with a V. Good Flattie will give you a few inches less the project. AV is notoriously less stable at rest, if two of you lean on the side it will work more easily and you can dive under the gunnel is not paying attention. A project will have a flat punt much fluctuation in the front. At 12 'there is no radical differences, only the above. The Flattie will deal with the overload and poor finish a bit more graceful.
