Chaparal is a good Boat?

hey people. I was shoping around for a used boat and found a Bayliner 2002. I was told it was a terrible boat Bayliner and is nothing more than a piece of wood covered with carpet pads. I kept looking and found 2004 Chaparral 290 signatures. Do you think your boat as good. much obliged

Jad … during the last 20 years I've had two Chaparrals. The first was a cuddy cabin 2550SX built / purchased in 89 and the 2nd is a Subscription build 330 in 2004. The 89 gave us hassle-free boat, until they moved to 330. When the day came to sell her I put it on Craigslist and had about a dozen people all wanting to buy it. Why? She looked again! Gelcoat held up beautifully over the years, the liner was in great shape inside, it seemed that the new engine and ran w / oa problem and had no rust on it at all. She was a great, and I mean really big boat for us. But we outgrew it and moved up to 330. The 330 is a dream to own and drive! If you take the 290 you'll love. Go for it and you'll see exactly what I mean. The only way you would be happy to move to a 310 or 330 but there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a 290. Good luck and welcome to the family Chaparral!
