If the lid does not have any tie down loops sewn along the bottom edge, then sew on some stuff using nylon strap. you can hold the lid boat, using sandbags filled and suspended from tying knots, or even plastic jugs filled with sand connected to the tie strips. the weight of sand will make the coverage the boat. hope this helps
