Boat Insurance Needs
I need insurance for a Boat?
I'm looking for a "pleasure boat 21, which I use, maybe all weekend on a lake that I need insurance for him and if so what kind do I need
If you finance your boat, bank or finance company will require full coverage. If you pay cash for your boat, you will probably need "liability" coverage, at least. While most states do not require liability insurance – most marinas do. I'm full live aboard a time sailor (cruiser) and during the last few years more Marinas need to see your proof liability insurance before they will rent you plug in your marina. Some (I've heard, although I have yet to experience it), I see your insurance before you will sell the fuel or allow you to launch your boat at their facility. Anyway, the responsibility to "secure" is a good way to secure go. It protects all the other boat and property in the event of an accident, it also protects you if someone gets injured while on your boat and hold him against losing his boat, house, bank account, and everything else you now have or may have in the future, getting taken away as a result of a lawsuit. If you have homeowners now it is better to call them for your Boat Insurance. If they offer marine insurance, it is probably cheaper and better coverage you can get the money. John
