Internet Travel Pre and Post

Title: Travel: Internet and post.

Travel Pre Internet:

I've been traveling for over 40 years – with the thumb in my early days, boots on the Scouts, a Lambretta came next and then my first banger old followed by new old bangers to the beaches of the Costa Brava.

My thumb, boots, bikes and bangers took me all over Europe and the UK before finding that a charter flight to Spain in an old "Connie" would take me to the beaches and bars much faster and allow more time to pursue opportunities for local travel by horse or car, the occasional bus and train.

'Go West and Prosper' seemed like a good idea, instead of taking an 8 hour flight, I took a transatlantic eight days of passage of Tilbury to Montreal on the Stephan Batory Polish Ocean Lines jet lag does not guarantee that problems my travel plans. Some years later, crossed the lake again on a ship, but this time was five times bigger and I traveled in style in the QE2 and the Queen dined in the grid a little removed from my previous experience. I highly recommend travel ocean, but can not see me in one of the modern cruise ships going from port to port with the constant line-ups to get in and out to buy t-shirts. However, I have done 10 Windjammers and a Star Clipper cruise in the Caribbean, which have all been memorable (Windjammer Barefoot Cruises we expect to recover from its problems). But I digress.

I had read that Canada is a spectacular country, from sea to shining sea, and my entrance into the St. Lawrence River, Montreal, and then going west in an Econoline van old Great Lakes, the prairies to the Rocky Mountains before ending whale watching off the Pacific coast of Vancouver Island was a surprise trip a guy from London. Today, the scenery is still spectacular and the best way to go is still a road, for rent or purchase a car motorhome, or motorbike, bus or a tourist train, but remember the maps, a fly rod, good boots and take your time.

My favorite part of the Canada / US adventure tourism has to be Northern BC / Alaska, the Chilkoot Trail for walking in the steps of goldseekers 1898. The Northwest Territories to the canoe the Yukon River and Nahannie drive from Dawson City chicken Alaska. If you like the outdoors and can put up with some bugs, cast a fly and scale of some hills or driving on dirt roads endlessly sharing the space with moose, caribou, moose, bears and eagles, so those are the places to put on your list. The pleasures and experiences in the conduct of Inuvik on the Dempster Highway or Prudhoe Bay on the Dalton Highway or the Canol Road can be felt only by doing them. I would have mentioned the Alaska Highway, but is now an easy drive to the contrary those mentioned above.

Today the cost of driving these distances may mean sharing the journey with others is necessary, but RVing or just Vanning and camping is a great way to see beyond the horizon. Some adventures in flight now need to be booked in advance, since when I hiked Denali Pass and the Chilkoot was just a case of turning up, registering with the local office and ranger position forward. A little more planning ahead is necessary for today's traveler and cost considerations of long flights or drives must somehow be countered with more careful planning. In the days of prices gas would not be reasonable to even consider driving or flying costs and have led to Key West from the northwest coast, along the West Coast to Baja and the west coast of New York. I once flew my taildragger 1946 Pacific Fleet to the Atlantic and back using about 5 liters an hour of avgas. Before the oil crisis and the credit led in Rio de Janeiro to Lima, to Tierra del Fuego and back to Rio covering over 15,000 miles of spectacular scenery and without any consideration about the cost gas. South America should be on your itinerary too! Some other memorable albums that may now require a mortgage with the gas companies to include London the Nordkapp, Norway, Skippers Canyon in New Zealand and the loneliness of the far north coast of Australia and Western Australia's incredible stopping at Monkey Mia and Wave Rock.

We tend to forget that the real cost of travel today is often less than about 40 years of my trips. In 1977, airfare roundtrip from my Canada Australia and cost more than $ 1700 dollars in 1977, so today is much cheaper to fly, even with a gouging airlines for fuel, extra baggage, without service and without pleasure. The method of 'Big Mac' cost comparison developed by The Economist gives a good measure for the majority of expenditure today compared to yesterday, but mine cost $ 1500 for a private pilot license in 1970 seems cheap compared to today, but obviously not when using this principle Big Mac Other travel expenses are also much cheaper today, but this does not mean that travelers should ignore the many methods cost savings that can be placed for travel experiences extended or improved

Post Internet Travel:

In my 40 years of travel, I use travel agents to make even the simplest of reservations and buy tickets, do not even think to ask them if they had "been there, done that?" It was only one case there are other options for buying trips. We now have unlimited options and may seek the best travel agents, best prices, selections and better information about everywhere in the world for our trips – without ever leaving home.

The Internet now offers travelers ideas and options where to go, when to go, why go, what to do, who to book and how to save money and offset costs. We can search and find experts for each course option. If we comfortable with the Internet we no longer have to go to a travel agent to make reservations and buy tickets, except for the book with some of the largest travel companies that continue to produce glossy brochures and offer all the packages or tours that sell only through the branch network. The Internet also allows those of us who are intelligent enough to know when looking for a top travel agent with experience, knowledge and competencies (skills KEE) of destinations and activities about where to find them. No more need to use only our local agents we can find another place in the world. When we do not need 'knowledge' and can do it ourselves, just surf the web so we can book directly with travel and tourism operators, wherever they have decided to go.

Some travel agencies operate their own tours, some are wholesale and retail consumers around selection limited to only sell their 'preferred' some suppliers and professional consultants with years of experience invested in the acquisition of experience, knowledge and skills and are worth their weight in gold for discerning traveler. Beware though, as some experts are also called target and some of these names only requires the agent to do a rudimentary test offered by tourism offices, destination marketing groups, or even tour operators and in my opinion may damage the reputation of the industry travel. An expert is not necessarily an expert.

Traveling is probably the most widely used commercial aspect of the Internet and retail agents want to take advantage this exciting medium to provide "knowledge" and his "kee 'skills to a global audience, not just their local community, they must embrace the changes that are happening. Travelers now have the ability to seek answers to the five W's of the journey and the important "how" save money and offset costs by having just a click away information.

And then it occurred to me that even the prices of many Internet Travel sometimes include an element of the commission even when they are sold directly to consumers. If you book directly with operators that should not have to pay the price retail as we are doing for ourselves what is a retail agent would normally do for us. A dilemma for the operator to show that it is both a retail and a cost option price could deter many agents to sell the services as travelers could use an agent for free advice and book directly with the operator to obtain a "Net of commission prices. Obviously, this two-tier pricing is not available, but often commuters who need not Councils should not be penalized for retail prices. A new way had to be found and I think I found!

The need for fairer prices Rate is why we developed the program at The Top Travel Voucher Top Travel Club and met up with a spot for him. All selections Travel Website are the 'net of commission rates for the members to deal with his own arrangements to travel there directly with the operator involved in the club's website using our voucher program.

I'm inviting tour operators from around the world to join this program, from the B & B, Motels Hotels, guesthouses, luxury Eco Resort Beach Resort and adventure tourism operators who want to promote their products and services for travelers who are comfortable with direct bookings and reservations.

Also I'm inviting travel agents with experience, skills and knowledge of destinations and activities to show their skills to a global audience of travelers and members this travel club. I am suspicious of "special agents" and only want experts to display their services.

This opportunity is available for the travel industry, at no cost to them except to offer net prices, or wholesale outlet for members and visitors to the site using titles travel top. I believe this program offers fair prices for travelers booking fee directly. The operator would normally be paying a commission anyway, but now the economies of travelers, because they make their own arrangements.

The Top Travel Club opened in mid-April 2008, offering thousands of travel vouchers for degree in over 70 countries, with around 150 travel operators on board. Each week we add more tour operators with more options for members. Today you can obtain savings on accommodation, adventure trips, Boat charters, hiking, cooking, biking, hiking and scuba diving, car dealers and RV rental and fishing guides, safaris, holidays, individual trips, only women face and farms. Members have the vouchers for free, paying an annual fee and non-members can buy the vouchers at Top Travel Sites Internet with very low prices to face value. Future growth will include restaurants, clothing, travel, travel insurance and the opportunity to access ticket agents who want to negotiate directly with consumers.

The way I traveled and my view is that travel consumers should have unlimited access to all opportunities to travel with the ability to do their own due diligence or to find a professional who can offer advice and services quality at fair prices, and find all without endless hours of searching.

To learn more about the new form of compensation costs for the course go to the Top Travel Club and my apologies for some of the spelling (passenger / traveler), but this is what I was taught. As long as we all understand the meaning, Vive Le Difference!
