Boat Insurance Surveys

How do I get liability insurance for a Boat?

I'm considering buying an old boat (1970), which would be kept in a nearby port. Not exactly a gem, so I'm not really interested in comprehensive insurance. I imagine that all marinas in California, would require at least one insurance responsibility on the boat. I need to get the boat surveyed in order to get the most basic coverage needed? As the boat is so old, there are other factors that can prevent me from getting it safe?

Robbie … You better do some testing in the area before you buy the boat. If you plan on keeping it at a Marina – Marinas some even take them to an old one. Also, be sure to take it on "On water" test run before you buy it too. And I would take a mechanic with me, so he can check it out when you have a load on it. I never knew that an insurance company require a survey when all you're holding is the other (by the way – thanks for that lol) You should have no difficulty in obtaining liability insurance. If you own a home – my owner is the police would first like to look at – are usually the cheapest John. Good Luck,
