how do I use to trim the best in my Boat? Volvo sterndrive with + and – settings on the trim control?
Devo use the settings more or less as the boat accelerates and lifts to the 'plot'
Just sit in the water, set the trim all the way down. When you squeeze the throttle and the boat begins to leave the water begins to cut the engine up. The larger the engine is cut less boat remains in contact with water. Security takes over here, to understand that in the calm waters suitable trim will be different from that in rough water. In calm waters, there is a point that only can be determined by feel is the ideal point where the boat is out of the water enough to reduce drag and run fast, but enough boat is in contact with water to maintain stability. If you get into rough water, trim the motor down from this position and forces the nose down to plow through the rough stuff. As you slow down, cut the engine down to keep the nose down out of his line of vision.
