Popular styles of Boat Lifts

There are many different types of boat lifts available on the market today. Some of these lifts can be purchased to "do it yourself" kits others require professional installation. The choice of a Boat Lift primarily depends on the type of sea live, the amount of money want to spend, what kind of boat you have (aluminum vs. fiberglass) and the size of your boat. Boat lifts also can be installed with a manual winch (up to £ 2,000) or electric winches (£ 1,000 or more).

Unless you have very light aluminum boat, we highly recommend buying an electric motor (S) to the lifting of the boat. Not only is an extremely easy to lift your boat out of water, but also, you can upgrade the road to a fiberglass boat weighed and have a lower replacement cost.

There are new types of boat lifts that comes out every season, so for the purposes of this article, we focus on the most effective and popular.

Turkish:

Turks have been the most common type of lift boats of many, many years. Basically, are two steel poles that are called "booms" that are installed on the wall of the sea or on stilts. The increases are attached to a base that is screwed the sea wall or piling. Each boom swings 360 degrees so you should buy a bigger boat, probably the boom can be moved out to still be able to attach to the boat. If not, the extensions are available for upgrade, if necessary. Each boom has a stainless steel cable (make sure that is stainless steel cable) that attaches to both the boat and winch.

A cable attaches the boom clamp forward or under or over the bow of the boat and the other gives the rear. Most boats require an extension bar to be attached to the boom to pull up the rear of the boat. The reason for this is twofold; there are two latches on the back of the boat to attach the spreader bar and keep your boat, even when lifting off the water and when the elevator.

As far as is Turks want to attach the cuttings to the wall, there are different schools of thought on the subject. We recommend talking with the installers about what they recommend, however, We have seen lots raise a right to pull a stack out of the water while the boat is being lifted. Another maintenance to be performed each year is inspection of cables. Again, we have seen many a boat lift and snap one end of the boat sending water crashing down. We suggest replacing every four years or more, depending on usage and time.

A Turkish alone can also be installed for use as a personal watercraft (Jet Ski) lift. The only equipment needed is a sling that attaches to the handle of a boom. The sling strap is a polyester, with two stainless steel panels that attach to each side of the Jet Ski to remove it from the water. Again, a manual or electric winch can be installed and swings the boom 360 degrees.

Final note: There many different sizes of Turkish and booms that can be bought according to the specifications of your boat.
Piling Mount Boat Lifts:

This type of boat lift attaches directly to the stack, which eliminates all the support beams. This type of lift is great for sailboats and boats with towers. They also come in various kinds of capabilities, depending on the weight of your boat.

Drive on Boat Lifts:

This type of boat lift is becoming increasingly popular due the nature of maintenance-free lift. The only factor is you have to live on a channel that always has water. For example, many types of channels, at low tide, water is not sufficient in itself to support this type of lift. They are considered very friendly, convenient and secure.

They can withstand ranges from a 12-foot boat for a 50-foot boat at sea. The boat lift is the drive and basically rises and falls with the tides. It attaches to your dock stakes in making boarding and easy access. Its also modular, meaning portable if you move, you can take it with you.

Boat Cradle Lifts:

Currently there are 25 different types of boat cradle lifts available. They may be steel, aluminum or a combination of both. They have capacities ranging 4,500 to 30,000 pounds.

Marine Boat Lifts Lift:

Marine lift boat lifts are ideal for extreme tidal areas or other conditions unusual coupling. The capacity of these lifts is 2,000 to 14,000 pounds.
