Boat Lights Safety

cable connections for Boat trailer?

My connection is a tow bar connector 4-Up: yellow, brown, white, green up. I have a 96 Grand Am w / hitch, wireless hook to the trailer yet. I need to connect the wire harness connection (male plug for car-trailer) for the corresponding colors the harness going to the rear lights of my car? I share in connection with the fitting that I should cut some insulation of the wires going to the tail lights and just "T" plug them in? There is a "plug in" available that connects to just plug in module to the taillights of the car? I only use the trailer 2x a year for few kilometers (dump the boat, so there's a slide during the summer, until fall of course), so I have "Wingin IT", no lights and a friend driving behind me for safety, thanks for any help.

Yes, you touch the tail lights inside the trunk. No T-connector the model year. You will need to get a converter, since this year has a Grand Am circut signal back. Reese part # 74209 or part # 18130 Draw-Tite, both prices about $ 18.00. Make the connection inside the trunk, ahead of the tail lights. Scotch locks are fine. Do not let anyone tell you different. Sometimes GM uses corresponding color-coded wires (yellow brown, ect.) Otherwise use a test light and check each circut.
