Boat Loan Process

Amicable divorce: Does it facilitate the process emotionally and financially?
My husband and I agree after five years of marriage to divorce. We do not have children, are financially independent of each other for the most part and are ready to begin the process. He owes a debt of a loan school, we have no debt and sell our house to share rent. We're friends, and none of us are bitter, so an amicable divorce. I would like to hear comments from others in the same Boat. What should we expect? Should we take our retirement and personal savings should also be shared with others, or we can simply say "what's mine is mine and what's yours is yours?" As for the emotional part, I think we both have seen this coming for quite time and honestly have excelled in each other. We care about each other on a different level, not just as husband and wife. Does that make sense?
Lawyers are what makes costly divorce. If you can solve it to the satisfaction of both, without them, you're golden.
