Boat Props

I have a problem with a Boat Star of 1977, help?

I recently bought a boat prop Star 1977 with MAC. worked very well, but now since you put it in gear (forward or backward), he dies.

It seems to me that a misfire low speed – not one or more cylinders able to do – it will idle roughly, but will not run when you put a load on it. You need to find out why, because if any cylinders are thirsty for fuel, they are not getting lubricated, which is a guaranteed recipe for catastrophic failure of the engine. First, test compression. cylinder more than 7% lower than the PSI needs attention any better. Next, test the spark. Spark should jump a 16/07 gap "with a blue flame in a strong tester the cut line to the engine block. No spark or poor spark on any cylinders, solve the problem of ignition:. While you're at it, see if any the chips are different in appearance from other insulator should be tan to golden brown, not carbon on the contact points (just over the edge of dry coal is nothing to worry about), center wearing uniform electrodes, the gap is correct, etc. A light coat of oil is normal after idling. Take the fuel line pressure is maintained and no water or debris in the tank and filter (s) are clean. Make sure time moves foward without advance stem when advancing the throttle stick. If everything checks out, rebuild the carbs.
