Boat Seats Bench Seat

boat seats bench seat
I'm trying to lay the foundations for turning so I can put a chair on my Boat "boat alumunim 14?

I have an aluminum boat "and has 14 as bench seats around the boat and his running mate only with foam underneath to ….. there is no way to use a bolt and nut …. what kind of screws or bolts that I need use to attach the swivel base that will not quit? ?

I do not like to drill a hole anywhere on a boat, if I can help – as it is only another failure point of water entry point and potential. If I do so I want to use duralac or similar, to avoid corrosion problems with the rubber steel (6 or 8 short round heads gauge will be good – the bigger the better within reason) and bed-mounted Sikaflex as an additional safeguard against ingress of water and movement. I like the mechanical advantage of a base structure mounted on the existing seat, possibly using tabs welded front and rear vertically so the forces against shear bolts are instead of pulling straight – very well made solid and strong. The larger the base, within reason, the best for strength, so wide as the existing seat is probably all right on. I saw on type fastening the seat bases and they seemed quite strong and firm, I might be tempted to use a little like insurance Sikaflex grip – you really do not want a seat to come adrift in a boat as it can be very painful – or worse rounded. Any frame that have the potential to make up all the bits and sharp corners cut and well. It's amazing how we humans get soft when wet, we easily slice and shred so this is very important. Good luck!
