How can I make a homemade outboard motor steering system for a Pontoon Boat?
I built a March 8 hull pontoon boat man. It 13 'x 8'. It has three hull and a wooden platform framed 10 'x 8'. There is a tiki hut framed canopy covering the platform with 3 'siding bamboo high around the perimeter. There are wooden benches molded running along the back and both sides. I have framed 2 "x 6" motor mount along the coasts the decade of the hull. I am considering getting an 8 to 9.9 hp outboard for it. I have no idea how I'm going to steer this boat. There is a 3 'short wall that runs along the back of the boat and engine on board will be mounted on 2'-6 "behind the bank captains. How can I connect a steering system or call an extension to the throtle where I can drive the boat? Please help?
get yourself some cables PTO, safe in the motor support, you can use a wheel, but you'll just be spinning 130 degrees as a means of a lever would total as well. some people preffer a close bond mechanics, as in a direction truck, but for a small jetty was not built to take remote control of the wheel, it would be more profitable to use PTO cables. I wish I could post a drawing I just made … makes sense when you "see" it.
