How much is my Boat?
I have a trihull 1975 w / 50hp evinrude. I put all new floors and seats recovered, new carpets. The fire engine works perfect all the time. I'm going to sell on craigslist. How much should I ask? The engine is a new style. Not the bigger engine rounded style. Seems small for modern their age. I think this is right about the time they began to make engines smaller and lighter for it's power.
The sad truth is that a boat, or anything really worth only what someone will pay for it. His boat is older, and today there are more boats for sale than there are buyers. It is definitely a buyer's market. Price it at the lower end of what was suggested, if you want or need to make a quick sale. Now the time is right to look for buyers as we headed for the spring / summer Boating season. If you're willing to wait, ask for more, but be willing to go down. I sold a 35 foot Ericson Spring 1972 last much less than I thought it was worth, but sometimes we just have to bite the bullet and accept that we have a boat very careful not to have the same appeal to a buyer. I am a lover of boat also, but I've seen both sides of the market recently. Best of luck and hope you are able to do a good deal.
