Boat Seats Storage

I bought used Chaparral SL 1992 2200. The floor is sturdy and has nice carpet. Banks need to work important, so I thought the carpet had been replaced. Most of the pictures I see this type of boat has a storage compartment in the floor. I noticed that under the seats looks like they may have memorized the entire floor, prov. throughout this magazine. I'm afraid of ripping the carpet and floor I'll find a lot of rot. I would, however, the magazine storage. But I could be wrong. and tear the floor up for anything. Does anyone have some knoledge on this boat model? Do you think there is a compartment under the floor and this carpet?
