Trying to remove old pedestall Helm Seat?
I am trying to remove my old base for a pedestal seat Helm. Finally got screws loose, but they will not give up. and I can not see a way to access the bottom if they are warped. The Boat is a 1994 Sunbird Neptune 201 with a lining of glass-fiber interior.
Try to wedge the ground up as you release the screws. I suspect bolts, and the method of the wedge, sometimes apply enough friction to keep the nuts in place while you turn the screw. You may have to drill the heads to remove the base and then with exposed screws out a way to remove them later.
