Boats And Outboards

boats and outboards
Interior, outboard, 2-stroke, 4-stroke, please someone help me?

I am looking to buy a Boat, I have been working on cars for years so when buying a boat came up I thought the interior (due to the simplicity of the marine engine automoble because of the similarity with the motor car only with pieces of seafood), then my uncle, who were boat for years said there that "the worst of both worlds" and suggested that I look for engines Stern and said to look for outboard motors do not look for the second time, but most of the outboard motor (from what I can tell) 2-strokes are lubricated. In addition, 4-stroke are (from what I can tell) more exspensive and there are many times has produced four outboard motors on boats im looking so please tell me your preferances and please explain as much as possible, thank you

Well, there are a number of factors to choose what is best for you. All have their pros and cons. What kind of boat you are looking to buy? A true Inboard boat is like saying you were an automobile engine equipped with a water cooling system Gross. Inboards are very simple in design. They use a narrow shaft to drive the propeller and the boat is powered by a Rutter. Inboards are commonly Found tournament wakeboard ski boats /. One Inboard / Outboard or Sterndrive is mentioned as an automotive engine with marine parts (distributor coil, etc.) The main difference between them is to remember that the efficiency of a motor boat will run at a constant RPM for long periods of time, so that's why that most parts of ignition are different. The engine is not really a concern, it is duly maintainced and winterized. Concern with this drive system is the tail. They require a lot of regular maintaince and have some knowledge of how they operate to work on them. The good thing is after working with them sometimes you almost have it figured out. If you buy check the oil used in the drive. Top oil fill plug. The oil should be about an inch below the plug. If the owner will allow it to drain a little of the unit (outdrive drain at the bottom) check the color and viscosity make sure it appears in good shape, must be the thickness of the gear oil. Also check and see if there are traces of metal shavings, tell tell sign of wear. This is just a basis to ignore the tail. engines outboard engines are much easier to work, but can be expensive too. The big concern for me is how they are loud! The two oldest courses were not very fuel efficient and can be difficult to start. The oil injected engines are great, until you mess up and ruin when your face! A lot of people take the Oilers and block and just mix fuel. The emmisions New models are very friendly and easy to get, but will require a dealer service, most use a fuel injection system. The four stroke outboards are relatively new to the boat scene which is why they are so expensive. They are good too, but will require more maintenance than two times as oil change. Hope this helps! In my preference, as far as the Boating you can not go wrong with a good I / O.

This comprehensive manual shows you how to go places and do things you never thought possible in a small outboard motorboat. A well-designed ruggedly built 17-footer, for instance, can fish offshore, circumnavigate Lake Superior, and crisscross the continent on inland waterways or on a trailer pulled by the family car. Small outboards are among the most versatile boats ever developed and are far more able than you might expect. Covered here are all the popular types–and some exciting alternatives as well as methods that may change your entire boating outlook. Aided by contributions from other experts, veteran outboard skipper David R. Getchell, Sr., offers a wealth of useful facts and special savvy that reveal for the first time in a single book the true potential of these democratic boats 20 feet and under. Here are the means to understand what can be done, and the way to do it safely, including: how to judge a boat’s potential and capabilities based on design and construction; how to rebuild an older boat; how to handle a little boat in big seas, surf, or shallow water; how to navigate; how to read the weather; how to head upriver or offshore; how to trailer your boat; how to manage and equip it for camp cruising on a nearby lake or for subarctic exploration; and how to care for the boat and motor.
