California Boat Insurance Required

I am required to have Boat Insurance in California?
Also, if you keep your boat in a marina, which will require you to have insurance. Most Homeowners policies cover your liability for a small boat. I'm in Cali, and has no insurance of thought BOAT U.S.. They not just provide insurance, but in a trailer / water feature service. My costs for the association is about $ 50 a year and my insurance 25 'Sail is only $ 154 per year. They are much cheaper than AAA, Progressive, State Farm or any other person I checked with!
