Our review of the cruise lines Holland America Oosterdam Ship
In 1871, Holland America Lines began its history as the Nederlandsche – Amerikaansche Stoomvaart Maatwsschappij. Headquartered in Rotterdam, Holland, and serving for the Americas, which became known as the Holland America Line.
In 1895, the company offered its first cruise vacation in New York in 1910 and his leisure cruise from New York to the Holy Land. The last time we were on the Oosterdam was in 2003 when it was brand new and I think someone had the loving care of this beautiful Boat. She is as beautiful today as it was at that time. Our balcony stateroom was very nice and has more than enough room for us to move, store all the clothes etc and relax with a glass of wine, as the ocean rolled by.
Ok here we encounter the problem only for the entire cruise so far. We are confirmed late seating and a table for 8 people. We arrived a top 4 with an elderly gentleman who was sailing on his first cruise with Air America, and had been assured of a big table of people with similar ideas.
It was ok but not the most comfortable night. A quick visit to the Maitre D in the next day fixing us with a table for 6 with two other couples who were also disenchanted the night before. We had great table mates for the rest of the cruise.
Shore excursions that have chosen the ranking up there with some of the best excursions we have experienced anywhere in the world. Cabo San Lucas went to All Saints for lunch at the Hotel California. This is a very interesting album through the desert of Baja California Bay of Cabo on the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific Ocean, where the driver stopped at one point because he had not planned to see many whales.
The town itself is charming and some of the artworks, the most notable Ruben Gutierrez is spectacular. By the way pottery Gutierrez is very reasonable. Then it was lunch at the Hotel California, which had a wonderful meal.
In Mazatlan, who signed up for the Shrimp Fest. We went to a beautiful private residence, on top of a hill overlooking the entire city, with beautiful gardens and beautiful terraces created to the crowd. Served margaritas, beer and soft drinks throughout the day and a buffet of all the shrimp you could eat in three different styles, along with rice and beans and guacamole and salsa and tortillas chips and clear.

I admit I was not looking forward to the show because some of the shows Cultural shows are boring, but this one was spectacular. So we took the catamaran back to the ship with all the stars, the lights of Puerto Vallarta and, finally, the beautiful Oosterdam illuminated at night. It was great!
The landing was as good as the shipment. Remember way back when I said that the rooms were not ready until 1:30? When you disembark, you can stay in his cabin until they call your color luggage tag. This is great! Then you go to the platform 2, a small line, show your passport and customs declaration to give an employee. Then quickly grab your luggage and in our case, take the first taxi in the queue and it is outside the airport. There could have been smoother!
