Our review of the cruise lines Holland America Oosterdam Ship

In 1871, Holland America Lines began its history as the Nederlandsche – Amerikaansche Stoomvaart Maatwsschappij. Headquartered in Rotterdam, Holland, and serving for the Americas, which became known as the Holland America Line.

In 1895, the company offered its first cruise vacation in New York in 1910 and his leisure cruise from New York to the Holy Land. In 1970, Holland America Line suspended its service transatlantic and sold its cargo transport. Vacations have become his focus full time. In 1989, Holland America Line became a wholly owned division Carnival Corporation, the largest cruise company in the world.

Boarding was smooth and easy. Drop off the bags in boxes outside, walk inside, show ID and boarding pass, complete a health questionnaire, please check one line short, show them the credit card you are using, to smile the camera, take the other photo and you're on board. Probably 20 minutes of arrival at first mojito at Lido deck. I never had a better board.

The last time we were on the Oosterdam was in 2003 when it was brand new and I think someone had the loving care of this beautiful Boat. She is as beautiful today as it was at that time. Our balcony stateroom was very nice and has more than enough room for us to move, store all the clothes etc and relax with a glass of wine, as the ocean rolled by.

Ok here we encounter the problem only for the entire cruise so far. We are confirmed late seating and a table for 8 people. We arrived a top 4 with an elderly gentleman who was sailing on his first cruise with Air America, and had been assured of a big table of people with similar ideas.

It was ok but not the most comfortable night. A quick visit to the Maitre D in the next day fixing us with a table for 6 with two other couples who were also disenchanted the night before. We had great table mates for the rest of the cruise.

Shore excursions that have chosen the ranking up there with some of the best excursions we have experienced anywhere in the world. Cabo San Lucas went to All Saints for lunch at the Hotel California. This is a very interesting album through the desert of Baja California Bay of Cabo on the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific Ocean, where the driver stopped at one point because he had not planned to see many whales.

The town itself is charming and some of the artworks, the most notable Ruben Gutierrez is spectacular. By the way pottery Gutierrez is very reasonable. Then it was lunch at the Hotel California, which had a wonderful meal.

In Mazatlan, who signed up for the Shrimp Fest. We went to a beautiful private residence, on top of a hill overlooking the entire city, with beautiful gardens and beautiful terraces created to the crowd. Served margaritas, beer and soft drinks throughout the day and a buffet of all the shrimp you could eat in three different styles, along with rice and beans and guacamole and salsa and tortillas chips and clear.

A gallery of small craftsmen and it was because my wife bought the citrus most amazing necklace and freshwater pearls and then met the designer of the necklace that he offered to make your clip on earrings to go with it and e-mail when she was designed them.

In Puerto Vallarta, we did "Rhythms of the Night" and you do not want to miss this tour! Begins with a one hour catamaran ride to a private beach all lit up with torches and absolutely beautiful. The catamaran's crew put on a show that was very good.

Was truly memorable dinner in which each party had a table for the number of people they covered. It was a buffet, but there were so many buffet tables set up that there was lines. Waiters brought the drinks and everything you wanted, and then there's a concert in an amphitheater. I admit I was not looking forward to the show because some of the shows Cultural shows are boring, but this one was spectacular. So we took the catamaran back to the ship with all the stars, the lights of Puerto Vallarta and, finally, the beautiful Oosterdam illuminated at night. It was great!

The landing was as good as the shipment. Remember way back when I said that the rooms were not ready until 1:30? When you disembark, you can stay in his cabin until they call your color luggage tag. This is great! Then you go to the platform 2, a small line, show your passport and customs declaration to give an employee. Then quickly grab your luggage and in our case, take the first taxi in the queue and it is outside the airport. There could have been smoother!

We work both for us and build a website for cruise travel. The Internet is a crucial part of the cruise for us and the Oosterdam, we had wireless access to our cabin. You can buy packages from $ 100 for 250 minutes (40 cents per minute) on top. You can also add more minutes as you need them and if you are on a package and you run out of minutes while connected, they are charged on any call rate for your package.

This was our 11th cruise in 9 years and I must say that while he had been to these ports before, this was one of the best cruise I've ever done!
